🔧 The Handle of My Safe Spins Freely – What Can I Do?

If the handle of your safe spins freely, it may be caused by one of the following factors:

1. Loose Set Screws

  • The set screws of the handle may be loose and need to be tightened.

  • At the bottom center of the handle hub, there are two set screws.

  • To fix this:

    1. Remove the two screws.

    2. Make sure the center hole of the shaft is aligned with the center hole of the hub.

    3. Reinsert the set screws and tighten them securely.

2. Weak Battery

  • The safe’s internal mechanism is not designed to handle excessive force from the handle.

  • If the battery is weak, the lock may not fully disengage, causing resistance.

  • Applying extra force can break internal components.

  • To prevent this:

    • Info
Replace the battery with a Duracell or Energizer 9V alkaline battery (expiration date at least 5 years ahead).
